Expectations

Why do I expect things? I mean seriously, whether it is in ministry, life, relationships, God, WOMEN? There have been countless times when my wife and I are laying down together when a kid will start to cry. And it’s not the kind of cry that you can just say “they’ll get over it.” It’s the cry that is blood curling, Godzilla is coming, the rapture has happened, kind that makes you leap to your feet asking what is going on. No, the best is when you hear a loud THUMP (that’s a kid hitting the floor from his bed that we have raised to store stuff under). Then he hits a couple of walls in his dreamy state and climbs into bed with us, oblivious to the fact that his parents are still awake. Yup, that’s the best.
